Fire Proof

So hey, I watched this movie a few months ago called Fireproof. It's a christian movie about a firefighter who's having marital troubles with his wife. Now that the movie's out on DVD I'm hearing about it on the radio and it seems like it's becoming kind of a big thing. The fact that this movie even got released in theaters surprised me. I only found out about it the day I saw it because it was in my Dashboard Movies widget (does that work with plasma yet, if so I might be tempted to ditch this Mac thing with KDE 4.2 out and all) :-) Now that it's out on DVD and people are still talking about it I'm all like, "Whaaaaaaaaa? F'real?"

Aaaaanyway, when I first started watching the Movie with my friend (also a christian) I thought it was pretty lame. Five minutes into it I wanted to walk out because the acting just wasn't really "there" and the strory hadn't grabbed me. About 15-20 minutes in it did start to get better. So my question to you guys, should you choose to watch it is: What do you think about it? I personally found myself defending the guy's actions while my friend was defending the girl's. Indulge me if you dare!
For those of you who don't feel the financial input necessary to procure this will be worth your while, I'm sure it's available via other avenues. I'm buying a copy so we can just pretend I lent it to you ;-)

And just to make this psuedo-KDE related: Who do I slap around here to get a mac theme goin'?
And speaking of the mac (you knew it was coming!) we have a windows-won't-resize problem. It happens with Kate, Kcalc and some other apps. Used to happen to Amarok too until Leo added a QDragBar/QGripBar/QGripHandle/QGrabMeThingAndResizeAlready somewhere. Ideas? Anyone? Qt-only code is fine.

I think I see a theme with these blog posts. Dragons. Fireproof. Wonder what's next...

I'm going to watch this soon too

Hey! =:) I think my wifey will be picking this movie up for us today, so I'll be watching this too. I too have been pretty disappointed in some of these Christian-oriented productions. I think the best one I saw was "Facing the Giants" (? iirc). But Fireproof has been getting so much press in the Christian community that I'm curious to see how good this one is. Thanks for the post! =:)
